Allison Melton was born and grew up in Holcomb, Mississippi. She and her husband Corey, with their four children, still live there today. She received a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in graphic design from Delta State University in 1998. After a call to teach there a few years later, she went on to Memphis College of Art to receive a masters degree in art. Allison taught in the Art Department at Delta State until 2008. At the birth of her third child she received another call to serve—this time as a full time mom to her three children. Three soon became four when baby Sarah was born in 2012.

In 2017 Allison began teaching elementary art at Carroll Academy. She found the enthusiasm of her students (who range from K3-6th grade) contagious. "The kids inspire me to try new things and be brave," Allison says. She is passionate about nurturing creativity and providing a supportive environment for young artists to explore their potential. Allison believes in the power of art to inspire, educate, and empower children.
